Initial
Initial budget worksheets describe initial budget allocations for each school. School budgets are primarily driven by a few factors: projected enrollment, specific student need, school programming, and average position costs. Prior to FY26, initial allocations included funding for Centrally Managed programs and administrative position add-ons as part of the average position cost, but in FY26 those costs were centrally budgeted and no longer allocated to schools. Initial worksheets are broken down by budget item; you’ll find the flexibility level, fund source, quantity, and total cost for each item. Initial worksheets are typically made public on the budget website in the winter.
Submitted
Submitted budget worksheets include details of school budgets after decisions made by Principals and school communities to tailor their resources from the initial allocation to their specific student population. Any one-time budget assistance a school receives is also included in school worksheets. Submitted worksheets are broken down by budget line item; you’ll find the FTE count for personnel items, as well as fund source and total cost for all items. Submitted worksheets are typically made public on the budget website in early spring. Prior to FY26, submitted budgets on the website included funding for Centrally Managed programs and administrative position add-ons as part of the average position cost, but in FY26 those costs were centrally budgeted and no longer allocated to schools.
Amended
Amended budget worksheets reflect changes made to schools’ budget after submission in the spring (typically during March of the preceding school year). Changes may include decisions made as part of summer reprogramming by school principals and communities to tailor resources to their specific student populations and any additional funds allocated after budgets were submitted. Amended worksheets are broken down by final quantity and final cost. Amended worksheets are typically made public on the budget website in early fall, before the start of the next fiscal year. Prior to FY26, amended budgets included funding for Centrally Managed programs and administrative position add-ons as part of the average position cost, but in FY26 those costs were centrally budgeted and no longer allocated to schools.
